Alive Alone, Inc. is a non-profit corporation organized for such educational and charitable purposes as will benefit bereaved parents, whose only child or all children are deceased, by providing a self- help network and publications to promote communication and healing, to assist in resolving their grief, and a means to reinvest their lives for a positive future.

A newsletter is published six times a year; spring. early summer, late summer, fall, holiday, and winter. People regularly write articles and poetry for Alive Alone and other poems, articles, reinvestment ideas, and suggestions for reading and listening are always welcomed.

There is no subscription fee for those who need to receive the newsletter. The mailing list is reviewed twice a year and names are deleted if we have not heard from individuals within the past year after notification. Regular presentations are made about bereaved parents who are now childless and grief recovery at organizations, state, regional, and national conferences by Kay Bevington.

Hospice is a non-profit, community-based organization of volunteers, lay persons and professionals who provide a specialized health care program for the terminally ill. The aim of Hospice is to provide a supporting environment where the terminally ill can live their lives fully and meaningfully, and be able to die in a hospice-support facility of at home with the companionship of family and friends. While many people are aware of its focus on the needs of the dying, Hospice also offers support to the family before, during and following the death of the terminally ill person.

The largest self-help organization in the world for parents, families, friends, and other victims of homicide. POMC has more than 400 local chapters and contact persons in the U.S. and abroad. They provide newsletters and conferences.

This is a group of volunteers who are interested in the welfare of both individuals considering suicide themselves or persons who have lost a friend or relative to suicide. The Samaritans also operate a 24-hour telephone service. Specially trained volunteers listen to the caller's concerns and attempt to be as helpful and supportive as possible.

This organization was jointly formed by the National Retired Teachers Association, the American Association of Retired Teachers and Action for Independent Maturity. "AfterLife"! Grief Recovery Seminar

This Center has developed a complete AfterCare Program for Hospice, Church, and Training of Caretakers of those who suffer from long-term illness. They are available for speaking engagements as well as materials and newsletter. They offer spiritually based counseling and renewal priciples for those who have expeirenced loss. Their format ranges from Week-End Seminars and conferences to a Seven week Conference which is hosted by Funeral Homes and Cemataries. The format is one night a week for two hours a night for seven weeks held on a quartlerly basis.
